NEW! logo after 10 years the tread board needed repainting, if any remember the old Green text logo might remember how the tread patten ended up becoming the background. The photos have also been upgraded to add logo's and date/time stamps to the images on upload so that the photos are noticeable for people linking to them.

Details: Hi All A work colleague of mine passed away recently at 58, and he had lots of plans for his retirement which he planned to be at 60, which he sadly never got to fulfil, and his death got me thinking about my own future plans, one of which is to get involved in steam locomotives. So I have recently joined my local model engineering club, and I am enjoying getting involved, however I'm itching to get steaming. I plan to build my own in the future, but in the meantime I would like to get steaming, as there is only so much coffee I can drink whilst watching the other members having fun steaming up. Ideally I would like to purchase something completed and not a project, all models considered but the bigger the better for me. I have been looking on the usual sites for locos, however everything on offer requires lots of work or is just not my cup of tea. If you are looking to sell a 5 inch Gauge Loco then please get in touch, you might just make my dreams come true. Thanks for listening.
Details: Castings and materials for a 3.5" 'Conway' locomotive - please see photos. The frames have some slight rust (mostly around the drilled holes) but this should clean up well. Some other of the steel parts also have some light surface rust. Every thing has been machined to a good standard by an experienced model engineer who unfortunately passed away before completion. The GM cylinder castings have not been touched and are ‘as new’. The horn blocks are fitted and axle boxes part machined. There is an axle-box boring jig (unused) – although you can see that the boxes have already been ‘split’. Prefer collection (because of weight) but will also consider shipment by Courier at Buyers expense. Please text for further info or photos.

Details: This is a full set of 39 text volumes for the Rees Cyclopaedia, published to 1820. The plates volumes are much easier to get, this is the only set of text volumes I ever found in the UK, lots in the USA. Leather backed and in remarkably good condition, could put on the shelves without too much embarrassment. Text block with some foxing but easily readable. Too well known to require any further description! Very large and heavy, will have to collect the volumes.

Details: I'm having a 'spring clean' - these have been under the bench for too long, so have to go. They're too good to scrap (but that's what'll happen if nobody wants them) - so they're 'free to a good home' (or a bad one - I don't care!). Firstly an antique donkey saw (mechanical hacksaw). I got this about 15 years ago, with a view to restoring it - but found a complete (and working) one soon after! Unknown manufacturer, on an unusual 'trumpet' stand (stand damaged slightly). Everything moves as it should - note that the vice is 'self-centring', one jaw has a left hand thread and the other a right. Probably originally designed to run from line-shafting (so there's a 'clutch'), it will need a suitable motor and mount. Secondly, an 'Astra', relatively modern, drilling machine head - will need a suitable motor (and pulley) and chuck (head has a 'JT' taper quill). Both are free - but must be collected in person from Nawton, North Yorks (about 25 miles North of York).
Terms: Price: Free Collection Only
