Details:
My Elliott milling machine has been in home workshop service since the 1970’s and I’ve recently replaced it with something newer, so I now need the space.
It has imperial leadscrews and a DRO on X and Y axes so as long as you are happy to convert to metric for knee height adjustment, you can work in metric or imperial.
ISO 30 quill taper, no tooling included.
Good points;
The two speed motor and switchgear all work as does the X axis power feed and quill down feed.
The ways are still good and it produces good work.
There is a taper dowel to set the head vertical, so no need to tram as you would have to with a Bridgeport.
The not so good points;
There are some minor marks on the table.
The worm to rotate the head stripped many years ago so I’ve always used a strut and let the head down using the knee. The worm to ‘nod’ the head is present, but I’ve never used it.
The suds pump left the chat many years ago.
I can load onto a low plant trailer for free, or can potentially deliver by separate negotiation.
Open to sensible offers and if you want a really cheap machine, I’m happy to remove the DRO.
