Details:
A part built Stuart Triple Expansion steam engine, not well built.
Bought as a project but I haven't done anything to it.
The engine turns over but it’s stiff, I haven’t dismantled the engine so I don’t know whether the stiffness is due to tight packing or an alignment issue. The crank pin of the intermediate or middle cylinder is loose in the crank web. You can see the engine as it is together with all the castings and other parts laid out in the pictures. Also included is a tin full of BA bolts studs and nuts. The drawings dated 4/2/55 are complete except (strangely) for a rectangular piece that probably referred to the expansion links.
Referring to Stuart Models website I estimate the total current price of the untouched castings is just over £400 including VAT and the castings in the part built engine approximately £600 including VAT.
Probably best to inspect the engine.
I prefer the engine to be collected from my home in Redditch and paid for by cash
The engine and castings in the wooden box weigh just under 12 kg, I estimate the cost of Royal Mail second class signed for would be approximately £12.00.
My phone number is 07806614410
